In today's climate, keeping quiet is politically correct. Voicing an opinion other than complete allegiance for assine policies will get you labeled as "fringe element" and "unAmerican". Even the White House jumped on the band wagon with their "snitch on your neighbor" program where people were asked to send reports when they found people or postings about not supporting Obamacare. Classic Nazi tactics.
About the only medium we have left are the Townhall Meetings since having to get a permit to protest now, since Bush expanded Free Speech Zones, usually results in few meaningful locations.
Check with your local Tea Party websites as they keep up to date listing of local Townhall meetings.
If you are on Facebook, search the 350 Tea Party groups and join one. Search the web for Tea Party organizations and get involved. There is strength in numbers, don't go it alone.

If you are in the military or in law enforcement, join Oath Keepers and get involved in the state chapters.

Interesting blog. I recently tore up my AARP card mainly because this organization ignores my generation: Generation Jones (born 1954-1965, between the Boomers and Generation X). In everything I read and see from AARP, it lumps people my age in with the Baby Boomers, and ignores the fact that GenJonesers have different goals, attitudes, life experiences, life cycle issues, and needs than Boomers. I’m hoping ASA is not behind the curve on this like AARP, and recognizes GenJones and its interests.
ReplyDeleteAARP’s omission is that more incomprehensible given the fact that GenJones is getting so much media attention, with many top commentators from many top publications and networks (Washington Post, Time magazine, NBC, Newsweek, ABC, etc.) now specifically use this term. In fact, the Associated Press' annual Trend Report forecast the Rise of Generation Jones as the #1 trend of 2009. In response to your comment about American Seniors Association...I went to their site and found they support the Fair Tax option. This tells me they have no understanding of the protection offered by the Constitution. Taxing, if adhered to by the Constitution would be OK but the trouble is, the Congress has abrogated it's responsibilites, gov't once again acted outside it's authority, and we have the monstrosity called the IRS.
ReplyDeleteOnce we allow the propaganda to sway us into voting to move taxation out from under the protection of the Constitution, you think we have problems now? We won't have seen anything by comparison.
ALL our problems are a direct result of NOT following the Constitution. We must get back to it.
